Good news for Samsung fans based in Europe -- Samsung is now accepting preorders for its latest phablet offering, the Galaxy Note 7, in the European mobile market. But alas, the biggest seller of smartphones in the world is deciding to put a limit on the number of Galaxy Note 7 units that can be preordered by European customers.
The reason for this move is to ensure that there will be enough units left of Samsung’s newest phablet to hit store shelves by the time the Galaxy Note 7 is officially launched in Europe. For those not in the know, the smartphone is scheduled for release in the European mobile market on September 2nd of this year.
Demand for the Galaxy Note 7 has been overwhelmingly high since its official unveiling earlier this month. As explained by Conor Pierce, the vice president of Samsung’s IT and mobile for the United Kingdom and Ireland, the combination of the highly positive reception the Galaxy Note 7 has enjoyed from wireless carrier and retail partners as well as the very warm reaction of the global mobile market to the device has led the South Korean tech giant to amend its sales projections in Europe. And because it would not be easy to change production timelines in order to meet the extreme demand, Samsung has no choice but to limit the stocks available for preordering.
Customers, especially those based in European countries, may not welcome this latest development with open arms, but for Samsung right now, the issue of limited preorder stocks is a good problem to have. At least, the South Korean mobile giant can now boast that its latest smartphone offering is now so popular that production can not even meet demand. Still, some may wonder that if Samsung only had enough supplies, it could be posting mind blowing preorder numbers by now.
To preorder the Galaxy Note 7, customers can head to Samsung’s online store and other retail partners. Those who preorder will get to receive a new Samsung Gear VR headset.
The Galaxy Note 7 features a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED display screen (2,560 by 1,440 resolution), flanked by a dual pixel 12 megapixel camera on the rear side and a 5 megapixel camera on the front side. The device houses a 1.6 GigaHertz four core chip set, supported with 4 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM) and 64 gigabytes of onboard memory (expandable up to 256 gigabytes via micro SD). Other features include a fingerprint sensor, iris scanning technology, a 3,500 mAh battery, and is powered by Google’s Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
