Sprint has recently announced that it has now included a couple of new devices, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the LG G3, to Sprint Lease, a program that provides customers an alternative to buying handsets upfront, subsidized, or via an early upgrade scheme.
In addition, the Sprint Lease program also lets subscribers get a new handset for $0 outright, and lease the device for a specific monthly amount for a period of 24 months.
With regards to the two newly added smartphones, both new and old customers can get the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 for $25 monthly over two years or $600 outright, while the LG G3 can be bought for $15 monthly over two years or $360 upfront.
Once the 24-month leasing period is over, customers have the option of upgrading to a new handset and sign up for a new two-year leasing contract. They can also opt to buy the device so that it will be theirs to keep, continue to lease it month to month, or terminate the program and then surrender their device.
Sprint first introduced the Sprint Lease program to its customers back in September of last year as part of the carrier's iPhone For Life promo. Eventually, Sprint decided to broaden the scope of the program in order to allow Android smartphones. By November of last year, the carrier had already added popular Android choices like the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport devices.
New customers have the option of leasing the Galaxy Note 4 or the LG G3 on a qualifying Unlimited single line plan. They can choose to pay $60 monthly and get unlimited calls, text messaging and data, or they avail of it as part of a Family Share pack. The carrier's 20 gigabytes for $100 monthly offer is still available to users, with waived monthly access charges until 2015.
As for those who prefer iOS devices, they can also lease the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus via the iPhone for Life program. This program lets users lease an iPhone for a period of either 12, 24, or 30 months, and when the lease period is over, they can choose to upgrade to a newer iPhone model, buy the phone they are already leasing, or continue to lease the device (or end the Sprint program entirely).
