Back in November of last year, Sprintbrought back a deal it introduced in 2014 that would lower the bills of subscribers of rival networks (Verizon Wireless, AT&T, and T-Mobile) by half if these customers would opt to switch to Sprint’s network. It appears that the wireless carrier wants mobile users to enjoy the special offer for a longer period. Indeed, Sprint has announced that instead of ending the promo at its scheduled end date of January 8th, the special offer will be extended until February 11th of this year.
This will give mobile users more than a month to avail of the deal. Though hardly new, the offer should be a tempting one for customers, especially those who are currently subscribed to either Verizon Wireless, AT&T, or T-Mobile, and are more or less thinking of switching allegiances. Sprint is applying the 50 percent bill discount from the time of activation until January 8th of 2018, which means that those who do avail of the promo will get to enjoy a couple of years of savings.
It should be noted that Sprint’s half price discount will be applied to the data and line access charges the customers pay every month, giving users the chance to save on both individual smartphone plans and also family plans with multiple lines of service. Under this special offer, customers can port a maximum of 10 lines of service, and they will not need to purchase a new handset in order to become eligible for the promo -- if their current device is compatible with Sprint’s network, they can port it to a new 50 percent discount plan.
As for those who are signed up to smaller providers, they may still be able to take advantage of Sprint’s deal. Those who are under Cricket Wireless’ prepaid plans qualify for AT&T plan rates. The same goes for MetroPCS customers for T-Mobile plan rates. Customers under US Cellular also can avail under Verizon Wireless’ plan rates.
Also, do not forget that customers can combine Sprint’s cut your bill in half deal with its existing $650 switching reimbursement. For customers who are charged early termination fees or device payments for leaving their wireless carrier in favor of Sprint, the latter will pay back up to $650 for every line of service ported to Sprint. But in order to qualify, customers will need to hand in their old handset, and the reimbursement is granted through an American Express Rewards Card.
