T-Mobile has decided to bring back the most popular family plan ever in its repertoire of wireless services -- the $120 a month family plan. This particular plan proved to be a hit with the wireless carrier’s subscribers, basically providing customers with four lines of service, with each line enjoying 10 gigabytes of LTE data.
The third biggest wireless carrier in the United States first offered its 10 Gigabytes 4 All Family plan back in July earlier this year, and ran throughout September last month. However, perhaps sensing that customers want more of the plan, T-Mobile is reviving the offer, albeit just as before, the plan is made available for only a limited time.
The family pack basically offers the first two lines of service for $50 a month for every line, with the third line offered at $20 a month, and the extra lines of service (customers can get up to 10 lines of service in total) offered at $10 a month. Each line of service already comes with unlimited voice calls, unlimited text messaging, and international text messaging, and 10 gigabytes of LTE data , plus all the perks of T-Mobile’s Simple Choice plans, which include Data Stash rollover data, unlimited voice calls to and from Mexico and Canada, unlimited 2G international data roaming, and Music Freedom, among many other benefits. It should be noted that the $120 a month rate does not cover what the subscribers pay each month for their devices, that is if customers elect to purchase new devices via the wireless carrier’s Equipment Installment and Jump! On Demand programs.
As far as family plans go, T-Mobile’s $120 a month family plan ranks among the best out there, even though the wireless carrier’s offer is only made available for a limited time. There are those who might be familiar with rival Sprint’s Share Pack, which also offers four lines of service at $120 a month. But in Sprint’s case, the 40 gigabytes of included LTE data is to be shared between all the lines of service, albeit subscribers do get unlimited voice calls, unlimited text messaging, and optional free international add-on Sprint Open World. Also, Sprint’s $120 a month offer only applies to its subscribers who are purchasing handsets via its Lease or Easy Pay plans. Otherwise, subscribers could be dealing with a minimum of $180 a month for the 40 gigabyte Family Pack. As for industry leaders Verizon Wireless and AT&T, they also both offer 40 gigabytes of shared data for four lines of service -- however, each wireless carrier offers the 40 gigabytes at a minimum of $300 a month for data alone. The Big Red’s fees for each line of service comes in at $20 per device (which means subscribers could pay a total of $380 for four lines of service), while AT&T charges $15 per line of service ($360 for four lines of service).
