T-Mobile recently announced a new expansion of its existing Simple Choice plans. Called Mobile Without Borders, this new feature allows subscribers to use their mobile devices while in Canada and Mexico. This means that customers will be able to make and take calls, as well as send and receive text messages to and from the United States to Canada and Mexico, and they will not be made to pay any extra fees, regardless of whether they making calls to a mobile phone or landline phone, or vice versa. Moreover, when subscribers are in Canada or Mexico, they will be able to use their 4G LTE data plan just like they would when in the US.
Apart from the talk and text inclusions in Canada and Mexico without any additional charges, T-Mobile’s Mobile Without Borders also comes with Music Freedom and Wi-Fi Calling, two features that subscribers can use in Canada and Mexico as they would in any state in America.
Lastly, subscribers under Mobile Without Borders will also be able to make use of their Data Stash in Canada and Mexico. It should be noted though that this feature is still not available yet but will be incorporated to Mobile Without Borders some time later this year.
T-Mobile’s Mobile Without Borders will officially go live starting on July 15th of this year, and the new feature will be made available to all subscribers under any prepaid or postpaid Simple Choice plan. Those who have yet to sign up under any T-Mobile plan will get the feature automatically. As for those already currently under a T-Mobile service, they can opt to get the feature on top of their existing plans either through online means, via phone, or by visiting any T-Mobile store and then transferring to the new plan free of charge. Subscribers who have an existing legacy plan that they do not want to get out of will be given the chance to add the Mobile Without Borders feature to their plan by paying $10 a month. Businesses will be allowed by T-Mobile to add coverage for North American areas up to 10 lines of service at no extra charge. Beyond the 10 lines of service, they will be asked to pay a dollar for each line added.
This latest feature from T-Mobile is part of its Uncarrier Amped campaign in which it is trying to restructure its current plans to offer better services to its customers. A month ago, T-Mobile had also introduced its new Jump! On Demand program, which allows customers to upgrade their handsets up to three times in one year.
