A week ago, major US wireless carrier T-Mobile took the opportunity to update its Simply Prepaid plans. Now, US Cellular is following suit by enhancing its own prepaid plans too, giving mobile users more data each month at lowered rates. Indeed, the wireless carrier’s all new Simple Connect plans start at $30 a month for basic handsets, and come with 500 minutes of voice calls, plus unlimited text messaging. As for plans for smartphones, they start at $35 a month, and already offer unlimited voice calls, unlimited text messaging, and unlimited throttled data.
For reference, the new prepaid plans are as follows:
$35 a month -- Already includes unlimited voice calls, unlimited text messaging, and 500 megabytes of speedy data
$45 a month -- Already includes unlimited voice calls, unlimited text messaging, and 2 gigabytes of speedy data (previously just 1 gigabyte of data)
$60 a month -- Already includes unlimited voice calls, unlimited text messaging, and 5 gigabytes of speedy data (previously just 2 gigabytes of data at $55 a month)
US Cellular used to have a prepaid plan that costs $65 a month, and already included 4 gigabytes of high speed data.
Apart from introducing new prepaid plans and updating its existing ones, US Cellular also revealed that it is launching a limited time deal for its prepaid customers. Those who spend at least $50 on their prepaid plan will get to receive $50 in bill credits. The fifty bucks will be handed in the form of $5 credit every month, to be distributed over the course of 10 months of the customer’s plan.
Moreover, US Cellular is also offering LG's Logos phone absolutely free of charge with a $50 mail in rebate offer to prepaid customers. For those not familiar with this handset, it comes with a 4.7 inch display screen, complemented nicely with a 5 megapixel camera on the rear side as well as a 1 megapixel camera on the front side. Inside, the LG Logos handset is equipped with a 1.2 GigaHertz four core chip set, supported with 8 gigabytes of internal memory, plus a micro SD card slot. The smartphone is powered by Google’s Android 5.0 Lollipop mobile operating system.
In October of last year, US Cellular had overhauled the pricing of its Shared Connect plans. The updated pricing is now:
1 gigabyte plan -- $25 a month (previously $30 a month)
3 gigabytes plan -- $40 a month (previously $50 a month)
6 gigabytes plan -- $55 a month (previously $60 a month)
10 gigabytes plan -- $70 a month (previously $100 a month)
12 gigabytes plan -- $80 a month (previously $110 a month)
