On Asus’ official website itself, four models of the tech giant’s ZenFone 4 smartphone were recently leaked. We should already be used to the idea of multiple editions of a particular ZenFone release. A year ago after all, the company’s ZenFone 3 smartphones included various specific variants, including the ZenFone 3 Deluxe, the ZenFone 3 Laser, and more recently back in January early this year, the ZenFone 3 Zoom (which sports a cool dual camera configuration).
It appears that for this year’s ZenFone 4 offering, Asus’ fans will be getting the usual multiple variants. The company may have inadvertently leaked no less than four new ZenFone 4 editions in its own website (they were since removed), including updated basic, Selfie, and Max variants. For sure, some may be curious with regards to the Selfie Pro, which is basically an upgraded device that comes with a couple of cameras on the front side, and for good measure, upgraded specifications in terms of hardware.
These latest leaked devices could also include the ZenFone 4 Selfie model mentioned in the preceding paragraph. Based on the leaks so far, the handset seems to feature a 5.5 inch IPS display screen, twin cameras (a majestic 20 megapixel camera as well as an 8 megapixel sensor) on the front side, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 processor inside. As for the Selfie Pro, it might be equipped with a 5.5 inch AMOLED display screen (with a resolution of 1,080 pixels), two front facing cameras (25 megapixel and 5 megapixel sensors), and a boosted Snapdragon 625 chip.
Another listing shows a ZenFone 4 basic variant. It shares the same display screen as the aforementioned Selfie Pro handset, and also packs a Snapdragon 630 chip set, supported with 4 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM), and 64 gigabytes of built in memory (expandable). Other notable specs include a 3,300 mAh battery. The last variant leaked is the ZenFone 4 Max, which compared to the other editions, offers a smaller display screen, a smaller battery, and a Snapdragon 450 chip, aided with 3 gigabytes of RAM and 32 gigabytes of expandable onboard memory.
By the way, for those who missed the news, about a week ago, Asus officially launched its ZenFone AR phablet by way of Verizon Wireless, exclusively for a price of $648. Right now, the ZenFone AR is the only device in the world that has support for both Tango (Google’s 3D mapping augmented reality technology) and Daydream (a virtual reality platform, also developed by Google).
