Yesterday, Verizon Wireless announced that it topped all carriers in a study by the prestigious J.D. Power and Associates marketing information company.
The study surveyed more than 27,000 cellular subscribers across the country. Conducted during the second half of 2010, Verizon Wireless had the highest score for call quality in 44 U.S. states plus the District of Columbia. Consumers were polled on their experiences with dropped calls, static, failed connections, distortion, echo and other performance problems. Verizon Wireless scored well in all regions across the country.
"These awards are a demonstration of our company's commitment to invest in our network: more than $6 billion annually; as well as the dedication of Verizon Wireless engineers who plan, build and maintain our nationwide network," said David Small, vice president and chief technical officer of Verizon Wireless. "We remain committed to continuing our investment in 2011, both in our 3G network and in our 4G LTE network that we are rolling out across the country."
"When we say we offer Verizon Wireless customers the nation's most reliable wireless network, we mean it," Small said.
Each year, Verizon Wireless invests billions of dollars in its network to stay ahead of the growing demand for the company's voice and data services. Verizon Wireless' ongoing network investment now totals more than $65 billion nationally over the past ten years.
