User interface: The HTC Incredible has HTC’s custom user interface called Sense built on top of Android, while the LG Ally has the standard Android interface known as the Google Experience with a number of custom LG widgets and Android enhancements. HTC’s Sense interface offers a number of advanced customization options for the Incredible, including sleek, custom HTC widgets, and the ability to change the layout and icons on the home screens depending on what the user is doing. Of course, it all comes down to a personal preference, and many users may prefer one interface over the other. Both devices are powered by Android version 2.1.
Keyboard: The LG Ally has a physical QWERTY keyboard that slides from the side of the device in addition to the standard Android virtual on-screen QWERTY keyboard. The Incredible lacks a physical QWERTY keyboard, but of course also has an effective virtual QWERTY keyboard. If you are simply not a big fan of on-screen keyboards, the Ally may be a better option.
Camera: At 3.2-megapixels, the LG Ally is a relatively mid-range camera in today's world of highly sophisticated mobile cameras. The HTC Incredible, on the other hand, is equipped with a powerful 8-megapixel camera. Particularly for those planning on printing photos taken with their mobile phone, the Incredible's camera may be a selling point. Both cameras are equipped with autofocus, and the Ally has a flash while the Incredible has a somewhat brighter dual LED flash.
Power: The LG Ally is a powerful device in its own right, but the DROID Incredible by HTC is at the top of its class, armed with the latest processor and more RAM than the Ally. The Incredible has a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and 512MB of RAM, while the Ally has a 600 MHz processor and 256MB of RAM. While the difference may not be significantly noticeable in most day-to-day operations (e.g. checking email), the Incredible will outperform the Ally, particularly when many applications are running simultaneously.
Storage space: Right out of the box, the DROID Incredible offers twice the storage space of the Ally thanks to 8 gigabytes of on-board storage (6.6GB available to the user). The LG Ally comes with a 4GB microSD card pre-installed.
Display: Although the same resolution (480x800 pixels), the DROID Incredible (3.7-inch) has a larger display than the Ally (3.2-inch).
Size & weight: Because of its lack of a physical QWERTY keyboard, the DROID Incredible by HTC is somewhat smaller and lighter than the Ally, although the Ally also has a smaller display than the Incredible.
