On the whole, the LG Ally and Motorola DEVOUR are very similar devices. Both Verizon Wireless smartphones are powered by Google's Android Mobile Operating System, have full sliding QWERTY keyboards, and boast the same processor and amount of RAM (allowing for comparable performance). The DEVOUR, however, has Motorola's MOTOBLUR user interface while the Ally has the standard Google Experience user interface (UI). The Ally has a slightly better camera and a slightly larger and higher-resolution display.
User interface: The DEVOUR has a custom user interface built on top of Android that may appeal to those heavily involved in social networking. The interface, called MOTOBLUR, provides close integration with social networks including Facebook and Twitter. The Ally, on the other hand, has the stock version of Android called the Google Experience . Of course, it’s a personal preference, and many users prefer one interface over the other. While the DEVOUR will likely be upgradeable to Android 2.1 or beyond in the future, the Ally has a number of advanced features that the DEVOUR doesn’t thanks to the latest version of Android.
Camera: The LG Ally offers a more powerful camera than that of the Motorola DEVOUR. At 3.2-megapixels, the Ally's camera has a flash and autofocus. The Motorola DEVOUR has a 3-megapixel camera, and lacks autofocus and a flash.
Display: The LG Ally's Display (3.2-inches, 480x800 pixels) is .1-inches larger and a higher resolution than that of the Motorola DEVOUR (3.1-inches, 320x480 pixels).
Storage Space: Right out of the box, the Motorola DEVOUR offers twice as much storage space as the LG Ally thanks to a pre-installed 8GB microSD card. The LG Ally, of course, comes pre-installed with a 4GB microSD card. The Motorola DEVOUR can support up to a 32GB microSD card, while the LG Ally can reportedly only support up to a 16GB microSD card -- making the DEVOUR capable of storing twice as much with an optional 32GB microSD card.
