User interface: At release, both the Motorola DROID X and Samsung Fascinate are running Android version 2.1. The Motorola DROID X has a slightly modified version of the standard Google Experience that adds a few nice enhancements, including a number of widgets such as a social networking and visual bookmarking widget. The Samsung Fascinate has a custom user interface called TouchWiz 3.0, also providing users with a number of custom widgets, social networking integration, and unique menus and gesture commands.
Design: Although neither the DROID X nor the Samsung Fascinate have a physical keyboard, both phones are relatively sizable devices as far as smartphones go. The DROID X, however, is slightly bigger than the Fascinate because of its larger display.

Storage space: Right out of the box, the DROID X offers a total of 24GB of storage space (8GB on-board, pre-installed 16GB microSD card), while the Samsung Fascinate has a total of 18GB of storage space (2GB on-board, pre-installed 16GB microSD card). Both devices can support up to a 32GB microSD card.
Display: The DROID X (4.3" TFT display, 480x854 pixels) has a slightly bigger, slightly higher resolution than the Fascinate (4" display, 480x800 pixels). The Fascinate is equipped with an ultra-thin Super Amoled (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode) screen. The AMOLED screen will provide a number of advantages, including a brighter screen, less sunlight reflection, and reduced power consumption.
Camera: Both devices are equipped with great cameras with autofocus and the ability to record HD-quality video up to 720P. The DROID X has an 8-megapixel camera with brighter dual LED flash, however, while the Fascinate has a 5-megapixel camera with single LED flash. The difference in megapixels really only comes into play when printing large images.
