As reported earlier, Apple Pay was supposed to arrive in Canada this week. Well, it is now official -- Apple has made its mobile payment system available in the Canadian market. However, in order for iOS users living north of the United States border to start making use of Apple’s contactless mode of payment, they will have to own the exact right credit card.
According to the blog iPhone in Canada, Apple’s own mobile payment system could be launching in the country of Canada as early as this week. Apparently, customer service representatives from American Express had told the tech website that Apple Pay is scheduled to arrive in the Canadian market on Tuesday, November 17th.
Another credit card joins the list of credit cards supported with Apple Pay. This time around, it is the American Express corporate credit card. With this latest development, American Express now becomes the first corporate credit card to partner with Apple’s mobile payment system, which could bring Apple Pay to an even wider pool of potential users.
