Apple’s latest store is one of several shops featured in New York City’s World Trade Center Transportation Hub, which opened to the general public just this week, a decade and a half since the original World Trade Center shopping mall was hit by the September 11 attacks. For Apple, its newest retail outlet comes just over a couple of weeks after it opened its first ever store in Brooklyn, specifically in the hipster locale of Williamsbourg
A few days after the Apple Watch first became available for customers who want to purchase it in-store (but with a reservation, of course), Apple's first ever wearable device lands in seven more countries.
As of this writing, the Apple smartwatch is now also available in nations such as Mexico, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Singapore, Taiwan, and South Korea.
Also, prospective buyers based in countries Netherlands, Sweden, and Thailand can expect the device to land in their shores beginning July 17th of this year.
Since it was officially launched last April 24th of this year, the Apple Watch was a bit challenging to get, especially for those who wanted to buy Apple's first ever wearable device directly from Apple retail stores.
Well, here is some good news for those disgruntled customers -- as seen on the Apple Store website, the Apple Watch can now be reserved online by customers, allowing them to check if their preferred model is in stock in any physical retail store near their location. The Apple Store staff can just prepare the specific Apple Watch model that was reserved and have the customer pick them up.
Apple has yet given customers another reason to order the Apple Watch online. The tech giant is reportedly instructing its employees stationed at Apple stores to encourage customers to get Apple's first ever wearable device online instead of purchasing them directly from Apple stores.
The Apple Watch is scheduled to hit Apple's stores on April 24th this year. But beginning April 10th, Apple is giving potential buyers a chance to try on its first ever wearable device, as long as customers do it inside Apple Stores, and they must wear it for up to 15 minutes only. It should be noted that April 10th also marks the date that pre-orders for the Apple Watch will start.
Google is launching its own online store, particularly one that focuses on selling Google-branded devices such as Nexus smartphones and tablets, Chromebook laptops, and Chromecast streaming devices, just to name a few.
The online store will go by the name of Google Store, and aside from selling its branded devices, it will also offer Nest, a Web-connected thermostat that Google acquired in 2014.
This should be considered by many as a sensible move for Google. The company already sells its software products via the Google Play Store, which offers mobile apps, music, and even movies. The Google Store will serve as an entirely separate venue wherein Google can showcase its hardware offerings.
Beginning on the week of March 9th of this year, Apple will be deploying "Concierge," which is designed for customers who go into Apple stores with various device-related concerns.
