Asus continues to expand its growing ZenFone brand by formally announcing its new ZenFone 5 lineup of phablet devices during this year’s Mobile World Congress in the beautiful city of Barcelona in Spain. The new ZenFone 5 family consists of the ZenFone 5, the ZenFone 5Z, and the ZenFone 5 Lite.
Asus not only showcased its latest laptop and personal computer offerings during this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the Taiwanese tech giant also took the opportunity to formally announce the newest addition to its ZenFone lineup of smartphone devices -- the ZenFone Max Plus (M1) phablet.
Asus recently took the opportunity to officially announce five new additions to its ZenFone family of smartphone devices. Everybody, meet the new ZenFone 4 lineup of handsets, which include the ZenFone 4 Pro, the ZenFone 4, the ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro, the ZenFone 4 Selfie, and the ZenFone 4 Max Pro. Basically, here is what everyone needs to know -- all five devices are equipped with a dual camera configuration, with one variant utilizing the set up for 2X optical zoom, while the other four using it to capture super wide angle shots on the rear side or on the front side.
On Asus’ official website itself, four models of the tech giant’s ZenFone 4 smartphone were recently leaked. We should already be used to the idea of multiple editions of a particular ZenFone release. During the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) that was held back in January early this year, Asus had generated some buzz with the debut of its ZenFone AR smartphone. Based on what has been revealed at Google’s I/O developer conference that happened just a few weeks ago, Asus’ upcoming phablet, the ZenFone AR, is nearing its official release date, and the device will be hitting the United States mobile market some time this summer as an exclusive offering from Verizon Wireless. According to Engadget, the handset will be making its worldwide debut in Taiwan by mid-June, and it should launch in US store shelves either in late June or in early July.
Qualcomm may have inadvertently announced Asus’ ZenFone AR phablet in advance, but it does not mean the device is not worth checking out now that it has officially seen the light of day. As leaked earlier, the ZenFone AR holds the distinction of being the first commercially available smartphone to have support for both Google’s Daydream virtual reality platform and Tango augmented reality technology.
Qualcomm may have accidentally revealed the ZenFone AR device, Asus’ latest smartphone offering and the second handset to come with support for Tango, Google’s augmented reality technology. Through a blog post, the chip maker giant inadvertently spilled the beans on an upcoming press conference to be held by Asus on January 4th of this year during the annual Consumer Electronics Show happening in the city of Las Vegas in Nevada this week.
