Just a week ago, rumors of Apple developing a foldable iPhone model surfaced in the interwebs. The talk was that the tech giant was teaming up with LG in order to start building a smartphone with a foldable OLED screen possibly three years from now. Well, unlike the iPhone maker, ZTE is not waiting until the end of the decade to showcase its own take on the foldable phone concept.
For the past few years, virtual reality has become a big thing, especially with smartphones adapting to this technology. One of the best ways you can experience VR is through Google's Daydream platform. There is, however, a catch. Only a limited number of devices are compatible with the VR platform, namely the Google Pixel, Google Pixel XL, Motorola’s Moto Z, Huawei’s Mate 9 Pro, and Asus’ ZenFone AR -- which all cost over $600.
When ZTE introduced its Axon 7 smartphone back in May earlier this year, many found the device an unexpected delight, especially as a handset that comes with premium level specifications but with a more accessible pricing. Now, the Chinese phone maker is trying to take full advantage of the warm reception of the Axon 7 by unveiling a follow up that is even more affordable.
ZTE has just made its latest smartphone, the Axon 7, available for preordering by way of its official US website, and at Amazon, Best Buy, B&H, and Newegg, for a price of $400, with shipping to start on July 27th of this year. With the coming of the Axon 7, the $400 smartphone club just got a little more crowded.
