BlackBerry may be more into building Android powered handsets than what was previously thought. As reported by leaker extraordinaire Evan Blass (published on Venture Beat), the Canadian phone maker is reportedly working on three new Android devices, code named as Neon, Argon, and Mercury. The talk is that consumers will reportedly see one of the smartphones each quarter.
Good news to all BlackBerry fans! The much awaited BlackBerry Priv will now be easier to buy in the US. Prior to this announcement, the Priv was exclusive to AT&T. But thanks to an announcement made by BlackBerry CEO John Chen, this will no longer be exclusive to just the AT&T network.
A few days ago, the Big Red has confirmed by way of its official Twitter news account that it will be offering the BlackBerry Priv smartphone soon. As many may have heard already, the BlackBerry Priv is a security and privacy focused slider handset that features both a touch screen interface, and a fully functioning physical QWERTY keyboard that slides out under the display screen.
In the next few days, AT&T will become the first major wireless carrier in the United States to carry the Priv, the first ever Android smartphone produced by BlackBerry. The second largest mobile network provider in America will be making the BlackBerry Priv device available in retail stores across the US as well as online via att.com beginning on Friday, November 6th of this year.
