Now that this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2016) has wrapped up, there is no doubt that fans of anything mobile are now looking forward to the next big tech event in the calendar. They will not have to look far because the annual Mobile World Congress (to be held in the beautiful city of Barcelona in Spain) is fast approaching, and it is actually happening on February 22nd to February 25th of this year, about a week earlier compared to last year’s.
Fans of Microsoft’s Windows 10 mobile operating system have been clamoring for a smartphone that would become the true face of the platform. But truth be told, the current available Windows 10 smartphones out there, most notably Microsoft’s own Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, as good as their specifications are, still leave some things to be desired. And it does not help that Microsoft seem to be reducing its efforts in promoting the flagship devices.
During this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2016) held at the city of Las Vegas in Nevada, Alcatel OneTouch took the opportunity to introduce a full new series of smartphones (PIXI 4), a new tablet device that is powered by the Windows 10 Mobile operating system (PIXI 3), and a parenting focused GPS tracking device (CareTime Children’s Watch).
In light of the slowing down of sales of smartphones around the world during the last several quarters, various phone makers have taken to launching new handsets that come with cheaper prices but actually are feature heavy enough to compete with some if not most of the current flagship devices out in the market today.
