Comcast’s wireless service, Xfinity Mobile, will be the only mobile operator based in the United States that will be selling LG’s new smartphone offering, the X Charge. The LG X Charge is the latest fairly sized handset to come from the South Korean tech giant, and has the distinction of having the biggest battery of any LG smartphone to date. The 5.5 inch device is being positioned by the phone maker as a good choice for mobile users with above average data requirements.
Sprint has officially announced that it has landed a deal to exclusively sell the Essential Phone in the United States mobile market. The Essential Phone is the first smartphone offering ever from Essential, the company started by Andy Rubin, the founder of Android. The device is expected by many to be launched some time in summer of this year.
According to an exclusive report published by SamMobile, it appears that a Galaxy S8 Active model (model number SM-G892A, code named as “Cruiser”) is heading soon to AT&T’s store shelves. For those not familiar with “Active” editions, they are basically special variants of flagship smartphone offerings that have been integrated with more features, especially those meant to cater to mobile users with active lifestyles (hence the name). In most cases, the additional features usually revolve around more protection against damages, or sometimes better water proofing capabilities.
HTC has joined forces with major US wireless carrier Sprint in releasing its newest high end smartphone offering, the Bolt. At a price of $599 (or $25 a month over a period of a couple of years), the HTC Bolt is actually being offered as a Sprint exclusive, and will be arriving in the carrier’s outlets starting this weekend.
LG has added another member to its K lineup of handsets. The LG K3 is decidedly a budget friendly smartphone offering, and by landing at Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile (both prepaid subsidiaries of major US wireless carrier Sprint), it should be a welcome option for customers of the two prepaid mobile service providers.
The latest Moto X has been available from Verizon Wireless for more than a month now. But today, the carrier is releasing a new exclusive version of the smartphone that should delight football fans in America. This version of the Moto X comes with a rear cover rendered in football leather. The carrier is offering this exclusive in its stores and online for just $119.99 (after a $50 on-contract rebate). The timing of this release is just perfect. We are already deep into the 95th season of the National Football League (NFL), and the league is as popular as ever. With the football leather Moto X, Verizon should be able to capture the crazed fans of the sport, as well as those who just find the football-inspired design right up their alley.
