The brand new year has afforded the world’s biggest seller of smartphone devices a chance at redemption after a somewhat epic failure in the last few months, and Samsung is making the most of the opportunity.
Samsung has officially unveiled its newest Galaxy offering -- the Galaxy A9 -- during its Galaxy A Party 2016 event held in China. As far as smartphones from the Galaxy A line of handsets go, the Galaxy A9 may be the most high end device, and certainly will please Samsung fans who are hoping for a smartphone that goes big in just about everything.
It seems like Samsung is getting busy with three new midrange smartphones. As revealed on Wednesday, the South Korean manufacturer is currently working on 2016 editions of the Galaxy A3, A5, and A7 -- models that come with advanced cameras, different screen sizes, and high resolution displays. In addition to this, a couple of these devices will be equipped with the highly successful Samsung Pay mobile payment system.
Quite quietly, Samsung recently launched its new Galaxy A8 device, which is definitely the thinnest smartphone the South Korean phone maker has ever produced so far. Officially announced in China, the Galaxy A8 comes with a frame that is only 5.9 millimeters thick, which makes it thinner than the Galaxy A5 and the Galaxy A3 devices, two of Samsung’s previous slimmest smartphone offerings. Design wise, however, the Galaxy A8 takes after its predecessors.
Samsung announced two new devices today -- the Galaxy A5 and the Galaxy A3. These smartphones both feature metallic unibodies and the slimmest dimensions of any handset Samsung has ever produced. For years, the South Korean phone maker has been rather fond of manufacturing smartphones with plastic frames. But recently, Samsung has been starting to go metallic. As a matter of fact, more than two months ago, the mobile manufacturer unveiled the sleek, metal-framed Galaxy Alpha. At the time of its release, Samsung had stated that the Galaxy Alpha would be the first of many future metallic smartphones from the South Korean phone maker. And it appears the company is making good on its word. Both the Galaxy A5 and the Galaxy A3 feature metallic unibodies that come in a variety of colors. Users can choose from Midnight Black, Pearl White, Platinum Silver, Soft Pink, Light Blue, and Champagne Gold.
