Every year, Samsung releases two sets of flagship devices -- its Galaxy S lineup and its Galaxy Note phablet series. Both come with some delicious high end specs that are not normally found in the South Korean tech giant’s other smartphone offerings. But that could all change next year, starting with the upcoming Galaxy A8 and the Galaxy A8 Plus.
Sure, Samsung might be planning to formally introduce its newest flagship device, the Galaxy S9, in February of next year during the annual Mobile World Congress to be held in the beautiful city of Barcelona in Spain, but that does not mean it will not be showcasing something new at the Consumer Electronics Show, which is scheduled to happen next month in Las Vegas in Nevada.
Quite quietly, Samsung recently launched its new Galaxy A8 device, which is definitely the thinnest smartphone the South Korean phone maker has ever produced so far. Officially announced in China, the Galaxy A8 comes with a frame that is only 5.9 millimeters thick, which makes it thinner than the Galaxy A5 and the Galaxy A3 devices, two of Samsung’s previous slimmest smartphone offerings. Design wise, however, the Galaxy A8 takes after its predecessors.
