So you are planning to get a new smartphone anytime soon? T-Mobile has something that you just might find interesting. The carrier has just announced its Summer Shocker sale. In this special offer, customers are given discounts on a variety of popular handset choices. But you better hurry in availing of this offer -- it only lasts for a couple of days starting now and T-Mobile is not making the offer available in physical stores.
Google is striking up a partnership with dubstep guru Skrillex in introducing a new limited run of special edition cases, dubbed “Editions,” designed for Android smartphones. These cases come in various sizes that can fit popular Android devices like Google's own Nexus 6 and Nexus 5, and Samsung's Galaxy S6, Galaxy S5, and Galaxy Note 4.
Samsung has officially confirmed that its two newest flagship devices -- the Samsung Galaxy S6 and its curvy sibling, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge -- will be available for preordering on March 27, and will be made available for purchase from wireless carriers and retail stores starting on April 10th.
Good news for those planning to get the Samsung Galaxy S6 or its curve-edged sibling, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Apparently, you will be able to remove any app that has been preinstalled in these devices.
Late last week, there were screenshots that surfaced in the XDA Developers forum that suggested that users can indeed deactivate and even completely uninstall apps that have been preinstalled in the Samsung Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones. In past Galaxy devices, users would not have been able to get rid of these apps easily.
MetroPCS, the prepaid brand of T-Mobile, has revealed that it will be bringing back its Buy One, Get One Free promo. With this special offer, customers get to have a bonus free mobile device when they purchase any smartphone from MetroPCS.
The promo will last until April 5th of this year, and is open to all current and new customers who buy a handset from MetroPCS and activate it on any of the carrier's existing prepaid plans.
As for the bonus free mobile device, customers can select from any of the 4G- and 4G LTE-capable mobile devices listed below:
Sprint has recently announced that it has now included a couple of new devices, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the LG G3, to Sprint Lease, a program that provides customers an alternative to buying handsets upfront, subsidized, or via an early upgrade scheme.
In addition, the Sprint Lease program also lets subscribers get a new handset for $0 outright, and lease the device for a specific monthly amount for a period of 24 months.
Samsung had thought about launching its first Tizen-powered smartphone numerous times in 2014, but instead has been repeatedly delaying the unveiling throughout the year. However, it appears that the South Korean phone maker is finally gonna go ahead and do it and introduce its new Tizen-powered handset in January next year.
For those not familiar with Tizen, it is an open-source software that basically anybody can use. For Samsung, Tizen might provide a means for breaking away from the Android platform, the predominant system used in most of the phone maker's smartphones.
Many are impressed with Samsung's Galaxy S5's features and capabilities. But it turns out that despite its good reviews, the flagship device so far is not selling that well, at least compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy S4.
