Earlier this week, Apple had begun rolling out its iOS 9.3, the newest iteration of its iOS mobile operating system. But just days after its deployment, there were reports circulating that the iOS 9.3 update was causing problems to older models of iPad tablet devices, especially during the installation process.
Apple has officially begun sending out invitations for an event happening on March 21st at 10 AM Pacific Time at its headquarters located in the city of Cupertino in the state of California. The invitation teases with the wording “Let us loop you in.” The tech giant may still be in the midst of a legal battle with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) over smartphone encryption, individual privacy, and national security, but apart from that, it is business as usual for Apple.
Back in November of last year, Ming-Chi Kuo, a noted Apple analyst from KGI Securities, had predicted that Apple is planning to release a 4 inch iPhone in 2016. By January early this year, rumors continue to swirl that a smaller and less expensive new iPhone device was indeed in the works, with 9to5Mac reporting that the 4 inch iPhone could be unveiled within the month of March this year.
The last time that Apple has updated its iPad Air tablet was back in October of 2014, which is sort of eons ago in today’s mobile standards. Well, the tech giant could be readying to officially introduce a new iPad device, specifically the iPad Air 3, less than a couple of months from now. As reported by 9to5Mac, it appears that Apple has plans of unveiling a new tablet during the week of March 14 this year.
Staples just became the latest retail giant to unveil its list of deals in time for the upcoming Black Friday frenzy next week. As expected, Staples offers new delicious steals, but what will likely make consumers line up is the retailer’s rather generous discounted offers for selected iPad tablet devices from Apple.
Retail giant Best Buy will be having a tempting sale this weekend ahead of Black Friday, but the special sale will only be held for one single day and on selected stores. On Saturday, from 1 PM to 5 PM local time, the American company is offering discounts on various items in certain locations. As indicated by BlackFriday.com, the sale will only be happening in 400 Best Buy stores across the United States. Those who want to know if their local Best Buy store is joining in on the fun, they can go have a check at the retail giant’s official website.
Amazon wants to take the fight to Apple, at least with regards to tablet devices. For instance, when Amazon introduced its new Fire HD tablet in the city of San Francisco in California this week, its devices chief David Limp held its newest tablet in one hand and Apple’s iPad Air in the other. The screen of the iPad Air was visibly shattered, while the Fire HD only had some battered corners. Amazon apparently had the two tablets undergo stress tests in its laboratory in Sunnyvale, and showed how its tablet performed better than Apple’s. Is this a sign of a rivalry between Amazon and Apple?
The biggest wireless carrier in the United States will be activating select unlocked handsets that include Apple’s iPhones, Google’s Nexus 6 (manufactured by Motorola), and other devices that are brought in by mobile users from other rival wireless carriers, that is as long as the phones are compatible with the Big Red’s network.
With the new iOS 9 powering its software, Apple’s next iPad Mini offering may come with a split view feature that will already be found on the iPad Air 2. Apple actually teased a split screen mode when it demoed its upcoming latest version of its iOS mobile operating system during the Worldwide Developers Conference held back in June earlier this year. This feature basically lets iPad users to run and display two apps side by side simultaneously (similar to how your desktop computers can show more than one window at the same time).
