Apple has officially begun sending out invitations for an event happening on March 21st at 10 AM Pacific Time at its headquarters located in the city of Cupertino in the state of California. The invitation teases with the wording “Let us loop you in.” The tech giant may still be in the midst of a legal battle with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) over smartphone encryption, individual privacy, and national security, but apart from that, it is business as usual for Apple.
Just like Pixar, Apple’s iPhone had an amazing winning streak, but it was bound to stumble eventually. Well, it appears that it is beginning to happen now. Apple recently revealed this week that it had managed to sell 74.8 million units of its iPhone devices during the final quarter of 2015 (ended December 26th). While that number may seem impressive to some, it is actually disappointing by Apple’s standards -- not only did it fail to meet expectations set by Wall Street, but also represents the slowest growth for the iPhone since the device was first released by the tech giant back in 2007.
And the rumors continue for Apple’s upcoming 4 inch iPhone, aka the iPhone 5se. This time around, there is talk that the highly awaited smaller iPhone device will be sporting the company’s own A9 chip set (plus its companion processor, the M9) instead of the A8 processor. And even though this device will come with an option for 16 gigabytes of onboard memory, interested buyers also get to choose to purchase an edition that offers 64 gigabytes of internal storage.
As indicated by a report published by 9to5Mac, Apple could be preparing to officially announce a new 4 inch iPhone device in March of this year (echoing another earlier forecast). Over the years, 9to5Mac has established quite a reputation for being one of the first to report on the latest Apple related developments. This time around, the tech blog is saying that a new iPhone device, called the iPhone 5SE, could be unveiled about a couple of months from now.
