Some owners of Apple’s iPhone devices are complaining lately of a weird bug on iOS that sometimes corrects the letter I into an emoji that features a question mark inside a box (often preceded by an exclamation mark, a letter A, and even a hashtag symbol). According to Emojipedia, the bug appears to be in the autocorrect software of iOS 11.1.
The iPod has had a good run since Apple first introduced it a decade and half ago. But apparently, the tech giant is now discontinuing specific iPod models for good. The company has recently and quietly removed the iPod nano and the iPod shuffle from its official website, with their respective product pages nowhere to be seen. Sure, iPod nano and iPod shuffle units are still made available in various retail outlets everywhere, but Apple fans may get the feeling that, sooner or later, these iPod models will be completely biting the dust soon.

Apple has rolled out the first public beta of its latest update to iOS 10 (the final one before iOS 11 is released). To date, the biggest wireless carrier in all of America does not support Apple’s Wi-Fi calling technology, which lets mobile users make and take phone calls via Wi-Fi connections on other iCloud connected handsets such as iPad tablets and Apple Watch devices. So, too, are a couple of prepaid brands of another major US wireless carrier, Sprint -- namely Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile -- which currently still do not have support for any of the Wi-Fi tech that the iPhone maker has begun using since it launches its iOS 8 mobile operating system back in 2014.
Apple recently deployed a software update for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices this week. This latest software release should update iOS devices to iOS version 9.2, and comes with enhancements to Apple Music and Apple News, as well as several fixes for various bugs. To start downloading this newest software update, iOS mobile users can head to Settings, click on General, and then choose Software Update.
According to the App Store Distribution web page, iOS 9, the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system, is now on 66 percent of all iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices in the world, as of November 2nd of this year. 66 percent is certainly welcome news for Apple, and represents an improvement over the 61 percent that iOS 9 managed as of October 19th of this year. Apple’s mobile OS had shown a slightly slow adoption rate last month, but it appears now that iOS 9 is gaining some momentum.
Only about a week after Pangu, a Chinese hacking team, released the first public jailbreak for iOS 9, Apple has managed to shut down a couple of the exploits taken advantage by the China based hackers. Pangu’s public jailbreak made it possible for iPhone owners to jailbreak their smartphones as well as almost all iPad and iPod Touch devices that run on iOS versions 9.0 through 9.0.2.
After almost three years, Apple’s iPod Touch finally gets upgraded. The newly enhanced iPod Touch now finds itself with certain features found in Apple’s flagship device, the iPhone 6. For instance, the improved iPod Touch now comes with an 8 megapixel camera, which is a significant upgrade on the previous model’s 5 megapixel camera. Also, the latest iPod Touch version now also sports a 64 bit processor, which means that the device is now capable of much faster processing speeds and can even improved graphics especially for games. Lastly, the device is now equipped with “M” chip for motion tracking purposes.
