There is talk that the new upcoming Pixel device this year could get rid of the familiar 3.5 millimeter headphone jack. The basis of this rumor is a post in the comments section of 9to5Google, but it is worth noting that tech site did clarify that it has not been able to confirm yet if its source (there is only one) has enough basis to claim so.
The year 2016 saw mobile giants such as Apple and Motorola decide on doing away with the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack in their respective high profile smartphone releases. Is the world’s biggest seller of smartphones also doing the same in the near future? The answer to that question seems to be in the affirmative, at least according to SamMobile’s sources.
Apple will be having an event in a few days, specifically this coming September 7th in the city of San Francisco in California at exactly 10 AM Pacific Time, and many industry watchers and end users alike are fully expecting the tech giant to officially unveil its newest iPhone offering, plus highly awaited updates to its one and only wearable device to date, the Apple Watch. But it appears that less than a week from now, the company may also be planning to debut a new pair of Beats headphones.
As indicated by images leaked by China based smartphone repair website Rock Fix, Apple’s upcoming iPhone 7 device could have room for a couple of SIM cards. As reported by Engadget, the proprietor of Rock Fix posted the photos themselves, but he did not share how he was able to acquire those images.
The next generation of iPhone devices could feature much enhanced audio capabilities, but it might do so at the expense of the familiar 3.5 millimeter audio jack. Nowhereelse, a France based web site, has apparently posted images of what appears to be an iPhone 7 case. Based on the leaked photos, it looks like the iPhone 7 might really come with dual speakers (as rumored). However, the standard audio jack is nowhere to be found.
Existing models of the iPhone all have a universal 3.5 millimeter headphone jack. It is something that is familiar with anybody who has ever owned an iPhone device. However, there are rumors circulating recently that Apple will be removing the headphone jack in the new and upcoming iPhone 7 (to be introduced later this year), and presumably, in future models in the coming years.
