Remember BlackBerry’s Mercury smartphone? Well, the Canadian phone maker has since announced a few months ago that the device will be henceforth known as the BlackBerry KeyOne. But information regarding the device’s launch date has been rather, well, mercurial.
The BlackBerry Mercury, which is the first of the new generation of BlackBerry devices, will be coming to store shelves on February 25th of this year -- BlackBerry Mobile revealed as much by way of a tweet.
A little more than three months after BlackBerryannounced that it no longer has any plans of manufacturing its own smartphone devices, there is a new BlackBerry Device debuting at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show being held in the city of Las Vegas in Nevada.
BlackBerry may be more into building Android powered handsets than what was previously thought. As reported by leaker extraordinaire Evan Blass (published on Venture Beat), the Canadian phone maker is reportedly working on three new Android devices, code named as Neon, Argon, and Mercury. The talk is that consumers will reportedly see one of the smartphones each quarter.
