Mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) FreedomPop has decided to team up with Dish Mexico in order to start providing free wireless services in Mexico. If this partnership proves to be a successful model, the carrier is looking to replicate its success in other mobile markets as well. Dish Mexico is owned by Dish and MVS Comunicaciones and is game in collaborating with FreedomPop in bringing free voice calls, text messaging and data access to Mexican mobile users.
AT&T has just revealed that it has added new Mexico and Canada roaming services for subscribers on some of its existing smartphone plans. Those who are subscribed under the AT&T Unlimited Plan, they can expect to be able to soon enjoy their plan’s voice calls, text messaging, and data inclusions in and between Mexico, Canada, and the United States, absolutely free of roaming fees.

AT&T will be increasing the monthly data allotments on its GoPhone plans starting Friday, February 20th. On top of that, the major wireless carrier will also be adding calls to Mexico free of charge.
GoPhone plan's data bucket currently offers 1 gigabyte per month. But in a couple of days, AT&T will be boosting the data allotment to 1.5 gigabytes per month. As for the $60 plan, what used to be 2.5 gigabytes will grow to 4 gigabytes starting this Friday.
When AT&T acquired Mexican carrier Iusacell last January earlier this year, it promised that it would build the first wireless service network that would service both the United States and Mexico. Now, AT&T continues to make good with that promise by announcing that Cricket Wireless, its prepaid brand, will start making unlimited calls to Mexico available as parts of its standard $50 and $60 plans.
