According to Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus, the company is planning to release its fourth smartphone offering, the OnePlus 3, at the end of the first half of this year. Pei has not provided any more details about the OnePlus 3 device, but for sure, the smartphone will be promoted as the latest flagship device from the Chinese phone maker.
OnePlus has never been one to follow convention, and the Chinese phone maker once again shows its penchant for unorthodox methods by partnering with a taxi hailing service based in India in order to sell its OnePlus X smartphone. The taxi hailing service is Ola, which kind of an Uber equivalent operating in the second most populous nation in the world.
OnePlus had already introduced two previous smartphones -- the original OnePlus One smartphone back in April of last year, and then followed it up with the OnePlus 2, in August also of this year. With these two devices, the Chinese phone maker had shown that it could produce mobile devices that could take on popular flagship devices from more established names in the mobile industry and in the Android environment (such as the Samsungs and LGs of the world). The great thing about it is that OnePlus is competing with other mobile giants while offering a much cheaper price for its smartphone offerings.
