Blu has agreed to settle with the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) with regards to charges that it had permitted a third party’s servers in China to harvest private data from customers, including text messages, location information (even in real time), telephone numbers, lists of contacts, and downloaded mobile apps.
T-Mobile will be paying the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) $48 million as settlement for misleading mobile users with regards to its unlimited data plan. The FCC had gotten some complaints from subscribers of T-Mobile’s unlimited data plan, claiming that they were not notified that their data would be throttled to virtually impossibly slow connection speeds after they go beyond 17 gigabytes in any given month.
Sprint has been granted approval from a United States District Court judge to pay an amount of $50 million as settlement over charges of cramming practices.
