Some may remember that back in February early this year, specifically during the annual Mobile World Congress event (held every year in the beautiful city of Barcelona in Spain), Sony had hinted that it would be launching a new smartphone with a super low light camera.
More than a month ago, Sony had updated its Xperia XZ lineup of smartphone devices by formally announcing the Xperia XZ2 and the Xperia XZ2 Compact models just in time for this year’s Mobile World Congress event (held in the beautiful city of Barcelona in Spain back in February early this year).
After introducing a trio of new Xperia devices at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held more than a month ago, Sony has proceeded to officially unveiling a couple of new additions to its Xperia XZ lineup during this year’s Mobile World Congress event.
Not too long ago, there were only a trio of smartphone devices that come with support for Netflix’s HDR streaming feature -- namely LG’s G6 and V30 flagship handsets, as well as Sony’s Xperia XZ Premium.
Sony has taken the opportunity to formally introduce a couple of new additions to its expanding XZ lineup of smartphones -- the Xperia XZ1 and the Xperia XZ1 Compact. The latest from the Japanese phone maker should basically serve as upgraded versions of last year’s Xperia XZ and XZ Compact.
Recently this week, Sony unveiled their latest flagship smartphone in India. The device, called the Xperia XZ Premium, is the first to carry 4K High Dynamic Range (HDR) display on its 5.5 inch screen. In addition to this, the smartphone is the first device to run Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor in India. Another notable feat for the Xperia XZ Premium is that it is the second device to support gigabit LTE next to Samsung’s Galaxy S8.
Sony has officially confirmed the pricing and availability details of its newest Xperia X smartphone offerings -- the Xperia XZ and the Xperia X Compact. For the full size Xperia XZ, it will be made available in the United States mobile market on October 2nd of this year at a suggested retail price of $700. As for the smaller Xperia X Compact, it will hit store shelves in America this coming September 25th at a price of $500.
