Not too long ago, there were only a trio of smartphone devices that come with support for Netflix’s HDR streaming feature -- namely LG’s G6 and V30 flagship handsets, as well as Sony’s Xperia XZ Premium.
Sony has taken the opportunity to formally introduce a couple of new additions to its expanding XZ lineup of smartphones -- the Xperia XZ1 and the Xperia XZ1 Compact. The latest from the Japanese phone maker should basically serve as upgraded versions of last year’s Xperia XZ and XZ Compact.
Recently this week, Sony unveiled their latest flagship smartphone in India. The device, called the Xperia XZ Premium, is the first to carry 4K High Dynamic Range (HDR) display on its 5.5 inch screen. In addition to this, the smartphone is the first device to run Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor in India. Another notable feat for the Xperia XZ Premium is that it is the second device to support gigabit LTE next to Samsung’s Galaxy S8.
Sony has officially confirmed the pricing and availability details of its newest Xperia X smartphone offerings -- the Xperia XZ and the Xperia X Compact. For the full size Xperia XZ, it will be made available in the United States mobile market on October 2nd of this year at a suggested retail price of $700.
