Kyocera Echo Unboxing

Wirefly Learn » Android Phones

March 30th, 2011

A couple months ago, Sprint showed off a new phone that was one of most unusual seen in quite some time. The Kyocera Echo has two high-resolution touch screens, and the phone has a novel hinge mechanism that lets the two screens nestle together to create a single much-larger screen. In essence, the Kyocera Echo is a cell phone that turns into a tablet.

Running on Sprint’s 3G EVDO Rev. A network, the Kyocera Echo runs the Android 2.2 operating system and has a 1 GHz processor. But the main event is the unusual display: Two 3.5-inch LCD screens that dock together to create a single 4.7-inch display with the resolution of 960 x 800 pixels. In the video to the right, Wirefly’s Bob Kovacs unboxes the Kyocera Echo to take a look at this unusual phone.
