Key Differences

  • Power: Armed with more RAM, the Palm Pre Plus is a more powerful smartphone than the Palm Pre.  While the difference between the two devices will be fairly muted when only a few applications are running simultaneously, the Pre Plus is capable of having significantly more cards (e.g. applications) open simultaneously, and will offer an overall faster experience.
  • Mobile Hotspot: For an additional monthly fee, the Pre Plus is capable of acting as a mobile hotspot — allowing up to five WiFi-equipped devices to share the Pre Plus’ 3G internet connection.  The original Pre is not equipped to serve as a mobile WiFi router.
  • Storage Space: With 16Gb of built-in storage space, the Pre Plus is capable of storing twice as much data (music, photos, video, etc.) as the original Pre for Sprint.
  • Design: From the outside, the Pre and Pre Plus look virtually identical with the exception of a touch sensitive area in place of the silver touch ball found on the original Pre.  The Pre Plus also comes with the matte back cover found in the Palm Touchstone Charging Kit instead of the Pre’s glossy back cover.
