Samsung Epic 4G vs. Samsung Epic 4G Touch Comparison

Samsung’s Galaxy S phones have been a hit will all the US carriers, pretty much putting Samsung on the map as a provider of high-end Android phones. The version of the Galaxy S series for Sprint is called the Epic 4G, and it had a couple of important differences from the other phones in the Galaxy S series. The Samsung Epic 4G was the second phone in the US to be delivered working on a 4G network – in this case, Sprint’s high-speed WiMax network. The other major difference with the Epic 4G is that it has a physical slide-out keyboard. None of the other Samsung Galaxy S phones had a physical keyboard.

Although still highly competitive, the Samsung Epic 4G is getting a little old. New technologies are starting to be introduced and Samsung reportedly now has a replacement planned for the Epic 4G. Called the Samsung Epic 4G Touch and part of what’s known as Samsung’s Galaxy S II series, the Epic 4G Touch is expected to differ from the Epic 4G in a couple important ways. Perhaps the biggest is that the Samsung Within will not have the Epic’s fine five-row slide-out keyboard, opting instead for an on-screen keyboard. All information below on the Samsung Epic 4G Touch is culled from various Internet sources and is subject to change, as neither Sprint nor Samsung has released official information on the Samsung Within. Given what we know today, how does the Samsung Epic 4G compare to the Samsung Epic 4G Touch?
