Will Motorola’s latest Android-powered Device devour the smartphone competition?

Bad puns aside, the Motorola Devour is a well-equipped Android phone for Verizon Wireless, complete with Motorola’s MOTOBLUR social networking interface.  Regarded by many as a somewhat more entry-level version of its famed older brother, the Devour borrows some of the Motorola Droid’s unique looks and burly feel.

Fashioned out of brushed aluminum reminiscent of the quality metal encasing found on a MacBook, the Devour feels well constructed and sturdy.  A full QWERTY keyboard slides from the side of the phone, and offers a typing experience that rivals that of the Droid.

Although the Devour comes equipped VZ Navigator, the device will support Google Maps with Navigation for a free turn-by-turn GPS solution. The Devour comes loaded with V CAST Music with Rhapsody and V CAST Videos, and also has the usual Android options including an on-board YouTube player.

The device also supports Motorola’s Phone Portal for easily managing contacts, photos, and more using a desktop computer and USB or WiFi connection. Other features include Flash Lite support in the browser, a 3-megapixel camera with video capture, stereo Bluetooth, WiFi, and a standard-size 3.5mm headphone jack.

For a closer look at the Devour, check out Wirefly’s video review of the latest in a quickly growing family of Motorola Android phones.
