As the Android operating system increases its dominance in the mobile industry, Android phones are turning up in a variety of shapes, sizes and form-factors. One of the latest in Motorola’s popular Droid family is the Droid Pro, which has a built-in QWERTY keyboard below a vertically oriented screen.

Targeted at business users, the Motorola Droid Pro on the Verizon Wireless network packs considerable power and versatility. In addition to running Android 2.2 and a speedy 1 GHz processor, the Droid Pro is an international device that can work domestically on Verizon’s CDMA network and switch to GSM operation outside the U.S.

The video to the right is Wirefly’s review of the Motorola DROID Pro, highlighting its speed and easy access to office applications. With its combination of international reach, QWERTY keyboard and superior speed, the Motorola Droid Pro takes a business-oriented approach.

  • Susan, the DROID 2 Global and the DROID Pro are fairly different phones. The DROID Pro has a keyboard on the front similar to a BlackBerry, and the DROID 2 Global is bigger, heavier and has a sliding keyboard. The DROID 2 Global has a much bigger and sharper screen than the DROID Pro. As for which you’d prefer, it’s hard to say without knowing your preferences.

As for battery life, we don’t really test the phones here for their battery life. However, Motorola lists the expected talk and standby times for these phones at http://www.motorola.com.

    Thanks for the question!

  • How does Droid 2 Global compare with Droid Pro?

What’s with comments that they both have poor battery life?
