Our friends over at Boy Genius Report posted a new article and photos August 17th revealing the Motorola DROID HD in a series of pictures that show off the sleek design! For every fan of this great lineup of DROIDs from Motorola and Verizon Wireless along with a great Android operating system; this is very welcome news indeed.
No word yet on an official release date however. You can only imagine that the release date will soon follow as these images and specs infer that the device is in the final stages. There is also no news as to if the DROID HD will work on the superfast 4G LTE Verizon network. The product could be released along with the Motorola DROID Bionic that has also been highly awaited. Here are the benefits of the Motorola DROID HD to the Verizon Wireless lineup:
• Android 2.3 also known as Gingerbread OS. It features a large 4.5-inch display (either qHD or 120 x 720px). It has an 8-megapixel camera with a 1080p video recording capability along with a front-facing camera and a HDMI-out port.
• The sale of Motorola Mobility to Google. One can only imagine that this will mean great things for all Motorola devices hopefully faster dissemination of Android OS updates and full integration between machine and software.
• Motorola Mobility has delivered the original DROID series in 2009: With the DROID X, DROID 2 Global, and DROID PRO, Motorola Mobility has shown itself to be an innovator and we have no doubt they will do the same with this device.
We hope to have more pictures and exciting news about the DROID HD in the coming weeks as this phone will be getting a lot of attention down the road. This phone along with the DROID BIONIC should be the first phones to release by Motorola Mobility post Google sale. Keep checking in with us here as we’ll forward on any information we see across the web about the Droid HD.
