ZTE is a relatively new name in the cell phone business in the US, and now the company has an affordable Android phone on Sprint’s national network: the ZTE Fury. The Fury is a compact and lightweight phone that’s perfect for a smartphone beginner, and it offers plenty of power for an experienced user. With a 3.5-inch LCD display and a 1GHz processor, the ZTE Fury can easily handle tasks from texting to video playbacks.

In this video, Wirefly’s Bob Kovacs opens the box on the ZTE Fury and shows what comes in the standard retail package. He then installs the battery and fires the Fury up to the main Android page. Click on the video window to the right to see the video and get your introduction to the ZTE Fury.

This is an affordable phone that still has decent functionality. Believe it or not, it has a bigger screen than my current phone. I’m looking forward to watching videos via YouTube and the Remote Access app from my employer, DISH. With the Sling Adapter connected to my receiver at home, I can watch my recordings and even live TV on my phone. I’m just glad I won’t have to spend an arm and a leg to upgrade.
