HTC Aria

And then there were two. As widely expected, the HTC Aria will soon join the Motorola BACKFLIP as the second smartphone in AT&T’s growing Android-powered lineup. The smallest Android device yet, the Aria will feature a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen, HTC’s chic Sense user interface, and a 5-megapixel camera. Here’s a quick spec sheet rundown:

  • Android 2.1 w/ HTC’s Sense user interface
  • 3.2-inch, 320×480 capacitive touchsreen
  • 600MHz Qualcomm MSM 7227 processor
  • 512MB ROM / 384MB RAM
  • microSD card slot (2GB card-preinstalled)
  • GPS, WiFi, proximity sensor, digital compass, ambient light sensor
  • 1,200mAh battery (up to 6 hours talk time)
  • Dimensions: 4.1 x 2.3 x 0.46 in.
  • Weight: 4.05 ounces

Putting much of its weight behind the wildly popular Apple iPhone, AT&T has been relatively leisurely in embracing the ever more popular Android platform. Expected to also introduce an Android-powered device from Dell to bring its Android-powered smartphone selection to a total of three though, the nation’s second largest wireless carrier has hopped aboard the Android train in a big way in a determined bid to rival the Android selection of the remainder of the Big Four wireless carriers.

Sure to elicit cheers from AT&T faithful clamoring to taste the many joys of HTC’s Sense UI and Android 2.1, the HTC Aria will arrive at Wirefly June 20th.
