Is Wirefly's Ari Driessen lucky with the ladies when he has an iPhone?

“Is that an iPhone in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?”

You may not hear too many women uttering these words when approached by that dapper, sophisticated, iPhone-toting male [see slick at right, who might take this demo iPhone out on the town] from across the bar, but according to a recent survey, men with an iPhone may have an improved shot with the ladies.

The survey of 1500 women commissioned by Sticky Eyes (digital marketing agency of UK mobile phone retailer Phones4U) reportedly without their client’s consent, indicated that men sporting Apple’s iconic iPhone are more attractive than their iPhone-less counterparts. 54% of women surveyed indicated that they would be more likely to date a man if he owned an iPhone.

Summing up the supposed allure of a male iPhone owner, one respondent said “if he has an iPhone then he’s obviously intelligent and well-off.” At the same time, 35% of those surveyed said that what a man does for a living would affect their chances of a first date.

The survey further indicated that 37% of those surveyed also said that iPhone owners appear to be more reliable, and that after seeing a male whip out their iPhones during a first date, they would be more likely to consider a second date.

While we’d speculate that Sticky Eyes’ survey may well have a margin of error of…err, plus or minus twenty, we applaud them for their efforts at getting a bit of buzz and were happy to oblige.
