“If you miss a turn, remember, the easiest way to get a new route is TomTom, not SueSue.”

We’ve all seen the effective if not mildly annoying commercials for TomTom, the successful line of GPS navigation devices. Now TomTom has teamed up with Apple to offer a turn-by-turn solution for the wildly popular iPhone. Will a commercial asking iPhoneiPhone for directions soon follow?

TomTom’s navigation package will include the company’s easy-to-use software as well as a “car kit” that provides “secure docking, enhanced GPS performance, clear voice instructions and hands-free calling, while charging your iPhone at the same time.”

Price and availability for TomTom for iPhone has not yet been set, but you can sign up to receive the latest on the product from TomTom.

TomTom is not the only company gearing up to offer a turn-by-turn solution for iPhone. German GPS navigation company Navigon is also working on an iPhone solution called MobileNavigator which is also expected to be available in the coming months.
