Back in July, ASUS unveiled the ZenFone Max Pro (M1) for its European market. Not long after that, the smartphone manufacturer is getting ready to unveil its successor, called the ZenFone Max Pro (M2). According to reports, ASUS intends to launch this mid-range smartphone before the year ends.
Apart from its name, ASUS has unveiled a few more information about its upcoming smartphone via a tweet. One surprising piece of information that ASUS revealed is that the ZenFone Max Pro (M2) will be available as a gaming smartphone.
As for its specs, a report showed that the upcoming device will include a 6-inch display and run on a Snapdragon 660 processor with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. The device is also reported to unbox with three cameras. Upon its release, the ZenFone Max Pro (M2) is rumored to run Android Oreo. But an update to Android Pie is expected to be released pretty soon.
Right now, the ZenFone Max Pro (M2) has not been photographed in public. XDA Developers produced a small image render on what the phone is expected to look like. And although nothing has been made official, it’s almost certain that this smartphone will have a notched display.
The smartphone is expected to be unveiled on December 11, followed by a U.S. release sometime in 2019.
