For quite some time now, Google has offered some of its features and apps exclusively to its Pixel line. The good news is that these useful features and apps are only exclusive for a limited time. This means that Google rolls out these features and apps to other Android phones through software upgrades.
One app that was previously exclusive on Pixel phones is the Phone app. But in September, Google made this app available to all Android users. Unfortunately, the app launched with some missing basic features that were only available on Pixel phones. One of those features, as we learn now, is finally making its way to other smartphone models.
According to a report, Google has released the Caller ID feature to the Phone app on all Android smartphone models. The feature is now available as a new setting that you can manually choose to enable on your device. You can opt to enable these announcements for all calls or just the calls you receive while you are using a headset. And if you’re okay not using Caller ID, you can opt to disable it.
The new feature is already available on the latest Google Phone app version. You can check if an update is available on your device or if the update has automatically downloaded on your device.
