Google surprised Pixel device users by releasing the latest Android OS version this afternoon. This means that Android 13 is no longer in beta version and is finally available to users.
Unfortunately, the update is currently only available to Pixel devices. The update will follow for Samsung, HMD Global, Motorola, OnePlus, Realme, Asus, iQOO, Oppo, Sony, Xiaomi, Sharp, Tecno, vivo, and many other manufacturers “later this year.”
The good news is that Android 13 brings a whole lot of improvements to devices. Here are the updates that come with Android 13:
App Notification Requests - Apps are no longer allowed to send notifications without asking
App Language Preferences - You can now set a specific language for certain apps
Copy/Paste - Android 13 now lets you copy-paste images, text, video, and URLs onto your tablet
Material You - Material You now comes with more colors and wallpapers
Media File Access - Apps on your device can access all kinds of media files on your phone storage with three new permissions instead of the READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission
New Media Controls - Media controls is now a lot bigger and there is a progress bar
Photo Picker API - Apps can now access photos or videos on your phone
Spatial Audio - Now supported in Android 13
