One of the most iconic smartphones to have ever been released is, without a doubt, the Motorola Razr. It was released in 2004 as a Motorola flip phone endorsed by celebrities like David Beckham and Fergie. Its success has led the company to sell over 130 million units throughout the world.
Fourteen years later and we’re finally witnessing the comeback of this iconic device from Lenovo.
As reported by The Wall Street Journal, the new Razr will be returning as a Verizon-exclusive foldable smartphone. It will have an OLED display that folds at the middle.
The announcement shows that only 200,000 units will be manufactured and sold next month. But as of this writing, the device is still undergoing testing. Its release could still be moved to a later date. The new Razr device will be available for $1,500, a far cry from the $600 price tag of the original Razr.
Lenovo acquired Motorola’s smartphone business in 2014.
