It’s been a tough morning for the big four carriers in the country!
Customers from the big four carriers have reported experiencing network outages on DownDetector. According to the map on the website, it seems like the areas most affected by the outage include the East Coast, particularly the Carolinas.
So far, Sprint has taken to Twitter to confirm the outages that it has experienced. The three carriers (AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile) have already done their part to fix the issue. Meanwhile, Verizon has responded to a customer via Twitter and shared that the issue was caused by Charter Communications, who recently changed its fiber lines this morning. According to Big Red, the change made by Charter affected many of its cell sites.
For its part, Charter has promised that they are already “working quickly” to remedy the problem. But there has not yet been any announcement that they have fixed the outage.
Fortunately, the number of reports on DownDetector seem to be subsiding. Are you still seeing some problems in coverage in your area?
