Spotify is trying to make its app more useful during workouts, not just as a place to play music. The company has launched a new Fitness hub that brings together guided workout content users can access on a phone, computer, or TV. It is available to both Free and Premium users, giving more people a simple way to find exercise content inside an app many already use every day.
As reported by GSMArena, the new section can be found through a direct Fitness hub link, through the “Browse all” tab, or by searching for the word “fitness.” Spotify says the hub includes content from creators such as Yoga with Kassandra, Caitlin Keli Yoga, Sweaty Studio, Chloe Ting Home Workouts, Pilates Body by Raven, Abi Mills Wellness, and Sophiereidfit.
What makes the launch stand out is that Spotify is mixing video and audio workouts in one place. Some sessions include video instruction, while others are audio-only, and the company is sorting them into categories like Cardio: Floor, Cardio: Outdoor, Yoga, and Pilates. That should make it easier for users to choose something that fits the kind of workout they want to do without digging around the app.
Premium subscribers are getting more than the basic hub. Spotify says its new partnership with Peloton adds access to a catalog of more than 1,400 on-demand classes, covering everything from outdoor runs to mat-based workouts in strength, cardio, yoga, and meditation.
The company also says users do not need Peloton equipment to take advantage of those classes, which could make the feature more appealing to people who simply want guided workouts through the service they already pay for.
