T-Mobile is doing its best to stop its customers from encountering spam. Earlier today, T-Mobile revealed that it was implementing a few technologies that will further strengthen its fight against spam. It also revealed that along with Comcast and Intelquent, they have completed their first end-to-end STIR/SHAKEN call.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) had released its STIR/SHAKEN (Secure Telephony Identity Revisited / Secure Handling of Asserted information using Tokens) protocols a few years ago. The protocols were released to ensure an IP phone call’s authenticity. This is an important first step implemented to prevent unwanted robocalls.
With T-Mobile’s new announcement, calls are able to be routed through Inteliquent directly between T-Mobile and Xfinity Voice landing phone service. The call displayed numbers that have been verified already.
In addition to its earlier report, T-Mobile also unveiled that its Caller Verified feature is already operable on 17 different smartphones. These devices include the 2019 and 2018 Samsung flagship models, as well as some from Apple and LG. They will be adding more devices in the future.
