Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S20 devices getting updated to Android 11 with One UI 3.1

Since last week, Samsung has been busy rolling out updates for Samsung Galaxy S20 devices to international and carrier variants. With the new update, it looks like unlocked Galaxy S20 device users can finally get the latest Android OS version. 

The update comes with One UI 3.1. Originally upon launch, this was only available to Galaxy S21 devices that shipped with Android 11. But now that the UI is rolling out to Galaxy S20 devices, users can start enjoying its features, such as wireless Dex access, new camera tricks, and many more. There are some features that will be locked to Galaxy S21 devices though so you can’t expect to have access to Google Discover instead of Samsung Free. 

The update also includes the March 2021 security patch. 

If you still haven’t received the update on your device, you can manually check it by going to Settings > Software Update > Download & Install. It might take a while before all phones will receive the update so you can just keep checking from time to time.
