Verizon is running a promotion that sounds almost too generous to believe: a free iPhone 17, a free Apple Watch, a free iPad, and a $100 gift card. For shoppers who have wanted to jump deeper into Apple’s lineup without paying full price up front, the deal is clearly designed to grab attention.
As reported by PhoneArena, Verizon is advertising the offer to people switching from another carrier, while existing customers can also qualify by adding a new line on one of Verizon’s Unlimited plans. The promotion ends May 13, and the new line has to stay on the selected plan for the full 36-month term.
That three-year commitment is the real story here. Verizon applies monthly bill credits that offset the cost of the devices, which is why they are being promoted as free. But if a customer leaves early, those credits stop, and the remaining balance on the devices becomes their responsibility. In plain terms, the bundle only stays “free” if you stick with Verizon for the entire three years.
There is another important detail buyers should know before signing up. The Apple Watch and iPad included in the offer are the cellular versions, and the terms say both require service plans in addition to the plan used for the iPhone 17. That means the upfront device pricing may look great, but the monthly service costs are still part of the equation.
According to the report, the included devices are an iPhone 17 with 256GB of storage, an iPad 11 with 128GB, and a choice of Apple Watch models that includes the Apple Watch Series 11 in 42mm, or select smaller Apple Watch Series 10 and Apple Watch SE options. Verizon’s bill credits break down to $23.05 per month for the iPhone, and $13.88 per month each for the watch and tablet over the 36-month period.
Customers who want more storage or a larger watch can still do that, but they will pay extra each month. The 512GB iPhone 17 adds $5.55 monthly, the 256GB iPad 11 adds $2.77, the 512GB iPad 11 adds $8.33, and certain larger Apple Watch options add 83 cents per month. Buyers can also choose from the available color options for the devices.
For anyone looking at this offer, the takeaway is simple: Verizon is packaging a very attractive Apple bundle, but it is really a long-term carrier commitment dressed up as a freebie. If you were already planning to stay with Verizon for years, it could be worth a close look. If not, the fine print matters just as much as the headline.
