As of now, there are four major carriers in this country, and they are: Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T. Their commercials have become more ubiquitous as time goes on. However, despite all the hype, Sprint has undergone some major changes. With the cost of living drastically increasing, people are looking for affordable cellular service. To size up against their competition, Sprint is making big changes. For instance, they no longer have 2-year contracts. They are the most competitive of all the big carriers in pricing, they have a great selection of phones and improved coverage. So, Sprint has the best pricing of the four big carriers. Sprint's goal is to knock out the other carriers with their new and aggressive pricing. Their best price is $60 a month for an unlimited plan on a single line. After reviewing AT&T and Verizon’s costs, they don’t come close to beating the prices. T-Mobile comes closest with a $70 unlimited data package and AT&T tops the charts with $100 a month. Add an additional 17 percent to the bill for taxes. The only major carrier that doesn't add these fees is T-Mobile. So, that $60 bargain just became $70.20.
While the price to beat on a single line may be $60 right now, they rotate their prices and promotions. Currently, Verizon and AT&T customers can switch to Sprint, and they can get 50 percent off their current rate, and Sprint is always launching new and crazy promotions. Hands down, Sprint’s prices are the best on the market. When it comes to five lines, Sprint offers a package for $100 a month, T-Mobile comes in at $180 a month as well as Verizon and AT&T. When a person has more than one line, the savings with Sprint are significant.
Most people look at price first and features second. Right now, Sprint has the iPhone Forever program. This allows the customer to have 30-days of satisfaction, and it is guaranteed. Any iPhone lover who wants to upgrade each time Apple releases a new phone can with this program. It’s a lease program where a customer pays a low monthly payment amount. Whenever the new phone releases, they simply trade in the old one for the new one. A customer never really owns the phone, rather, they are just leasing them from Spirit. Sprint offers no overages, free calls to Mexico and Canada and a 30-day guarantee. Verizon also offers no overages and free calls to Mexico and Canada, but they don’t offer the iPhone Forever or 30-day guarantee. T-Mobile, however, does offer a similar plan to the iPhone Forever, but they don’t give their customers any guarantees. AT&T, being the most expensive of the carriers, only offers perks with calls to Mexico and Canada. They don’t have any other guarantees or programs for their customers. Most consumers would say that Sprint’s coverage has improved. They serve the major markets well. According to independent test scores, they have much better coverage than they used to. When going outside of metro areas, such as rural areas or alongside interstates, the coverage is lacking against AT&T and Verizon. What do the experts say about Sprint and their claims? Well, Nielsen stated that there was about a 1 percent difference in metro markets against the big two. RootMetrics reported in 2016 that there was a 3.6 percent difference between Sprint when against Verizon, and there was a 2.4 percent difference against AT&T in metro areas. Surprisingly, their claims are pretty accurate. A difference of 3 percent is negligible.
Though third-party test scores have shown that Sprint is the leader in places like Tennessee, Texas, and Colorado, keep in mind that wireless coverage differs in each market. No carrier is perfect all the time. There are always issues that must be constantly dealt with. It is how these carriers deal with these issues that matter. The phone also makes a big impact on the service provided. Having the latest phones and devices allows a person to tap into Sprint’s newest network, Spark. Sure, the towers, antennas, and infrastructures matter greatly, but don’t forget the importance of the phone. An old and outdated phone could be placed on any network and fails miserably. The terms for leasing a phone is around 24 months. However, with the iPhone Forever package, the consumer gets to upgrade their phone every year. This means always having an inflated bill paying on that phone, but the phone will constantly be replaced. To join this program, customers must turn in their old phone to Sprint.

Forget bringing a phone along with Sprint. To get the best of their services, it will require a new, technologically advanced, phone. Keep in mind, switching from one carrier to Sprint doesn't mean that the phone will work. They have new phones, leased options, and pre-owned phones too. Whether a customer’s credit level is great or poor doesn’t matter. Sprint has a mobile device that will work for everyone’s budget.
As of January 2017, Sprint is allowing a 30-day window to change their mind about their services. All a customer needs to do is to return the device and walk away. They will be given a complete refund with no questions asked.
